Welcome to the Diversity, Inclusion and Equality Webpage!

The Diversity, Inclusion and Equality Committee (DIEC) was established in early 2024.  

Its membership currently comprises:

• Ron Millet (Chair)
• Ruth Kerr (Secretary)
• Robin Jepson
• Vanessa Jervis

An initial focus of our activity was to undertake a review of the disability access arrangements in affiliated clubs and the provision of information regarding these arrangements.  Learning and good practce from the Disability Access Scoping Exercise which has been shared with clubs can be found below.  A new YCBA Grant – Disabled Persons’ Club Improvement, has also been introduced.  Details of the grant which is project match-funded (50%) up to £1,250 grant value were sent to clubs on 27/01/25.

We are now prioritising work in the following areas:-

• Developing a YCBA Diversity, Inclusion and Equality Policy.
• Developing a model Diversity, Inclusion and Equality Policy for Clubs.
• Reviewing YCBA processes for diversity.

These and other identified actions have been collated into an action plan which is a living document which we regularly review and update.  A copy of the most recently updated version of our action plan can be found below.
