  • YCBA Development Day - Chairman's Observations
The members meeting held at the Hilton, Leeds on Sunday 18th November together with the YCBA development day was a great success. First my thanks go to the speakers on the day which included ones from ArcScorer and BriAn, which showed us the future of how we will be inputting scores and Phil Godfrey for stepping in to do Pianola at the last moment. This was apart from his duties at discussing EBU Score and some of the new laws together with BB@B with Ron Millet. Bev Purvis, the club liaison officer at the EBU, was also present.
Two main items came from the members meeting itself and these were the investment in technology which is going to be offered by the county to clubs. This will include, hopefully, everything from whiteboards to new technology and discussions as to how this will be implemented will be at our next board meeting in January. The idea of having seminars aimed at non-experts was brought up and it seemed that a day set aside would be a popular idea. This will be discussed at the next Bridge development meeting.
It is likely we will be holding the members meeting at development days in the future, so if you have any ideas that you would like to be presented at one of these, please let a board member know.
    Nick Woolven

  • Northern Bridge League
    A division: Yorkshire 2 were 2nd, behind Manchester 1
B division: Yorkshire were 2nd, behind Manchester
C division: Yorkshire NW were joint 1st with Manchester 1
The tie is split by considering the total VPs scored between the tying teams over all four heats
This means that Yorkshire NW prevail by 43 to 37, and qualify for the National Final
Congratulations to all involved in this achievement
